Les Crosets 2012

Les Crosets 2012, a set on Flickr. We had a wonderful time during our yearly skiing trip. The most exciting to happen this year was “Huiiiiiii!” and we did the Chavanette once more, finally! The snow was great … maybe a little bit too much of it even including a huge surplus of fog or… Continue reading Les Crosets 2012

Continue reading Karlsruher Grat

What kind of souvenirs do you bring home from your trips? We found Iceland quite hard on souvenir shopping. Not only is everything rather expensive, but we don’t want (most of) it: There’s tons of generic stuff probably all made in China: fridge magnets, beer bottle openers, glasses, cups, golf balls, key chains. Since we… Continue reading Souvenirs

Packing right

I always think that I don’t pack right. I forget things, I take too many things or stuff I don’t use (this time I did use the gorilla pod!) … so here are a couple of lists of mispacked things: Here’s my Top 5 “Forgotten Things” Lonely Planet Guide. We only had a single small… Continue reading Packing right

I’ve also been writing a travel diary which has 16… Continue reading On the Ring Road: Iceland

Back from Les Crosets

We are back from our skiing vacation in Les Crosets. (Nearly) same procedure as last year. We had a wonderful time, great snow, lots of sun and good skiing. No accidents – except maybe the cheese wheel accident, the one where we bought the 5kg cheese wheel up on the “alp” and ate just about… Continue reading Back from Les Crosets

Right now we are in Budapest. We arrived late on Sunday and will leave early on Friday to go to a wedding of a relative of Rolland’s. For October the weather is awesome as you can see. I will hopefully upload a couple more pictures tonight. We had some cake at the Café Gerbeaud. We… Continue reading Budapest

Tsunami on Samoa

Among all the many bad news about catastrophe’s these days this one touches closer to home as we spent part of our honeymoon on Samoa and have been to the places that were now destroyed. This beautiful beach at Lalomanu is said to have been hit as well: Samoa Live News writes: The TV cameras… Continue reading Tsunami on Samoa
