So installing java has become pretty easy just set the link to the new directory and ‘java -v’ tells me its 1.5.0. Great! Not so great: compiling my project. I am getting a few warnings “enum” is a keyword now. Typical: the axis people tried to emulate enums and named their package org.apache.axis.enum … great one. Argl.
Somewhere I read: “Sun should have reserved all C++ keywords from the beginning” … because eventually they’ll all be there. This time ’round we’re getting a bunch of new C-features. Metadata sound like #ifdef, generics, auto(un)boxing of basic types, enums and formatted output ala printf.
